Alejandra Hilsaca, M.S.
Psychological Associate

Meet Alejandra:
I am a third-year doctoral trainee in Loyola University Maryland’s Psy.D. program in Clinical Psychology. I previously earned my M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola and hold a B.A. in Political Science and Peace & Conflict Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Before beginning graduate training, I spent nearly a decade working in the nonprofit sector, where I combined legal advocacy with social service support for undocumented immigrants, individuals experiencing homelessness, and other marginalized communities.

Clinically, I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I have specialized experience working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, and major life transitions. My clinical interests include gender and sexual identity development, immigrant stress, refugee mental health, and trauma recovery.
My therapeutic style is person-centered, strengths-based, and grounded in feminist and culturally responsive principles. Outside of the therapy room, you’ll likely find me hiking a new trail, getting lost in a good book, or planning my next adventure—and I’m always happy to talk about my favorite animal, the sloth.
I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process—one where trust, authenticity, and curiosity create space for meaningful growth and healing.
